Vehicle Ramming Attack in Hebron Near the “Policeman’s Circle”

A vehicle-ramming terror attack occurred Saturday evening in Hebron, near the “Policeman’s Circle.” A terrorist attempted to strike Israeli Defense Forces soldiers from the Paratroopers Brigade. One person was lightly injured and received medical treatment at the scene by emergency personnel.

The attacker was neutralized. A second Palestinian, later identified as uninvolved in the attack, was also killed during the incident.

Attack on Paratrooper Forces

The IDF stated that a terrorist accelerated the vehicle toward Paratroopers Brigade units who were conducting routine security operations at the “Policeman’s Checkpoint” in the Judea Brigade sector, near Hebron.

Israeli forces immediately opened fire and eliminated the attacker.

Second Attempt in One Week

This marks the second vehicle-ramming attack in the Hebron area within one week.

Last week, a Palestinian vehicle veered off the road near the Judea Junction outside Hebron, struck a civilian woman, and fled into nearby villages. Following a manhunt, IDF forces captured the attacker the next day.

Biblical and Historical Context

Hebron is not merely a modern flashpoint — it is one of the most biblically significant cities in the world.

It is the place where:

• Abraham purchased land for burial, marking the first recorded Jewish ownership in the Land of Israel (Genesis 23).

• Sarah, Abraham, Isaac, Rebekah, Jacob, and Leah are buried in the Cave of Machpelah.

• King David was first anointed king of Israel and ruled for seven years before moving to Jerusalem (2 Samuel 2:1–4).

The violence occurring today unfolds not in an abstract geopolitical arena, but in the heart of biblical Israel, where covenant history still meets present-day reality.

The prophet Zechariah foretold:

“On that day I will make Jerusalem a heavy stone for all the peoples; all who lift it will surely hurt themselves.” (Zechariah 12:3)

And the psalmist prayed:

“Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: ‘May those who love you be secure.’” (Psalm 122:6)

For believers, these events are not isolated headlines — they are part of an unfolding story rooted in God’s promises to Israel, contested throughout history and still alive today.
