In light of the intensified fighting across all fronts during Operation “Strength and Sword,” the Ministry of Defense is releasing new data today (Sunday) on the rate of IDF casualties as a result of the war. The data is being published ahead of the first international conference of the Rehabilitation Division, which will take place this week at Tel Aviv University, with representatives from over 20 countries including medical and rehabilitation experts from armed forces, defense ministries, and health ministries worldwide.

Over 78,000

According to the data from the Rehabilitation Division, the number of IDF and security forces injured has increased to over 78,000 as a result of the war, with 16,000 of them having been admitted since October 7. One in every two injured individuals being treated in the division is dealing with psychological responses.

Steps Toward Rehabilitation

Professionals at the conference will address the difficult data and discuss the medical, psychological, familial, and social rehabilitation journey of the IDF and security forces injured and former captives being treated in the Rehabilitation Division.

Amit Program

At the end of the year, the Amit Program was launched, established by the Ministry of Defense in recognition of the contributions of soldiers in the “Swords of Iron” war. The program includes a range of activities such as sports, complementary medical treatments, workshops, self-help exercises, and psychological support, all free of charge across the country to help mitigate the effects on combatants.
